The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence is an international campaign originating from the first Women’s Global Leadership Institute sponsored by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership in 1991. Welcome to the branch at the City College of New York. Established in the Fall of 2011, the branch at the City College of New York Campaign Committee has been supported by students and the community of Harlem. There are events organized around the topic of gender violence. They range from self-defense, learning about domestic abuse, sexual health, and many others.

Patriarchy In Activist Spaces

Occupy Sisterhood

Please join us for a very important discussion!

Tuesday, November 26th, 2013 7:30pm at the Ya-Ya Network Space

Anti-imperial, anti-capitalist movements do not necessarily mean the politics of the participants are anti-sexist and anti-racist. How do we comfort each other and check each other in a community of activists united to bring down structures of capitalism, imperialism and colonization? How do we as women educate each other and support movements that may hinder our energy and collective power if there are perpetrators of the same oppression organizing together?

*** Please note this event is for female-female identifying individuals only, given the nature of the discussion. ***
