Regarding the Ad-Hoc Committee Against the Militarization of CUNY:

The SCC did endorse the Ad-Hoc committee but just to clarify, only two of our members were active participants in the organizing efforts.The SCC chose to endorse the Ad Hoc Committee Against the Militarization of CUNY to emphasize the rampant sexual abuse within the military. The SCC’s mission is to create a support system for women and girls coming from diverse backgrounds, some of which are survivors of sexual violence. Taking our mission statement into consideration, we felt that endorsing the Ad Hoc Committee is a positive step towards dismantling the systemic issue of patriarchy by confronting sexual violence within the military institution.
